15mm 40K Tau Conversions

Here are those converted Tau I promised a few days ago. Bodies from GZG's New Israeli troops. Heads from Critical Mass 15mm Ygg Mercenaries. The paint job isn't great as I'm still getting the hang of painting in 15mm. For one thing, I really need to dim down those eye's a bit.

  1. I like em! Converting minis is the cheapest way to get what you're looking for and I quite honestly had no idea how to go about Tau. Your works definitely inspired me to put them higher on the list of to do's!

  5. Good job, Brian! Head swaps are often simple and effective way to get hold of something not available in the right scale, and these are no exception-let's see more!

  6. Thanks for the post on my Riflethings... Hopefully I can finish a few more of them soon.

I like these "Tau", a race that fits in really well with a lot of the 15mm sci-fi figures out now. The only things I'd have done is beef up the shoulder pads so they look a bit more like the large, flat ones on the GW Tau, and maybe try to hint at the Tau's toe-walking feet somehow... but in 15mm that kind of conversion is so freaking hard :P

  7. Thanks Allison. I'd have loved to try that but I'm pretty useless when it comes to the old green stuff that way. I even struggle to manage decent looking tank stowage and bin bags!
